Long before this artist became known as one of Herman Brood's protégés, his life began in 1964, in Norway.
Soon new doors opened in the life of this nomad. After Norway, he spent a large part of his childhood in Tanzania.
In 1980 he studied drawing in Trondheim and not much later he delved into the art world in Vancouver, where he took classes in sculpture and painting at the Emilly Carr College of Art.
Ultimately, his paintings brought him to the other side of the world, to Amsterdam. In 1990 he successfully graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Around that time a close collaboration with Herman Brood was established. Together they had “Action Painting” performances and joint exhibitions.
These works of art now represent a beautiful image of the Dutch "art scene" from the 1990s: brutal, fast, colorful and boundlessly free.
