Lee Campbell is geboren in Nieuw Zeeland.
In 1995 she became Kings School Canterbury's first local artist. At the same time as her art studies, she was commissioned by the University of Kent to paint a mural for the Space Research Unit. After many years of teaching painting at various locations, she finally returned to London in 1997. Not long after, while studying the urbanized riverbanks, Lee moved to the historic Eel Pie Island in Twickenham.
She feels lucky to be described as a 'site specific' artist as her work is simply influenced by her immediate environment which is why she enjoys working as a local artist. New subjects mean new material to feed the imagination. Her choice of colors is influenced by the snow-covered federal lakes and rivers of New Zealand, where she spent her childhood. In England, Lee was impressed by the misty atmosphere that hangs over the landscape there.
Recent work has merged these two worlds.
Her work is cherished in private collections worldwide.
