Puritat Deangharm is a successful contemporary urban portraiture artist from Thailand who has made his mark on the international art scene establishing himself in many areas of the globe. The artist\u2019s distinct, large-scale paintings have become widely recognisable, particularly over the past five years as his popularity has continued to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The boldness and vibrancy of the colours instantly draws the eye to his paintings but equally appealing is the subject matter presented and the method in which these paintings are composed. Puritat binds both eastern and western cultures, drawing upon influences such as monumental buddhist sculpture, urban street art murals, Japanese Manga, Silver Age comics and female subjects from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The artist\u2019s signature style is created by collaging comic book pages onto the canvas upon which he then paints a portrait and finishes with a screen-printed layer of linear pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
