Frans Schuursma, born in 1938 in Amsterdam, studied at the Art Academy in Tilburg and the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Schuursma paints and draws in the figurative style and depicts the world around him in a playful, imaginative way. The artist's paintings look French. This is not very strange, since he has lived and worked since 1969 on a hundred-year-old sailing clipper that is located diagonally opposite the Eiffel Tower in the Seine.
