Biography

In his daily life he experiences worlds of contrasts, which seem to go hand in hand, and perhaps cause the constant conflict in his work. The abstract scenes are made up of bright, painterly layers and color explosions.

The explosions also support concrete, politically charged topics and especially emphasize extremities in life. Where black and white falls short is the fact that the truth hides somewhere in the middle.

“Cosmopolitan paints about bite-sized culture”. This is how Bram Reijnders introduces himself. Dynamic brushstrokes and his Pop Art-like approach betray the colors of this personality and his opinion about our society.

Inspired in data like; making distances small, controlling time and letting it run at a different rhythm, he gives shape to what he believes could be the wish of every human being.

Old handwritten letters, photos and various other exciting old documents are a number of special elements that can be found in his work.
