Christiaan Dekker

I am Christiaan Dekker, a Dutch artist with a contemporary perspective on traditional letterpress printing techniques. In my studio, I combine craftsmanship with a personal artistic vision. Each work originates from a careful artisanal process in which I hand-carve designs from linoleum or wood.

This always begins with a creative process in which I visualize, develop, and refine my ideas until the design is ready to be cut. The printmaking process is slow and careful, and each print is unique. The subtle variations give the work character and make it tangible.
