Karlien Kuperus

In 2001 Karlien Kuperus graduated from the Amsterdam School of the Arts. Since then she has been working as an independent artist.

Her paintings are optimistic in character: cheerful and often even festive.

By using special materials; thick and different layers of paint in warm colors and with a touch of lacquer give her works their own signature. She describes her style as modern figurative, but also expressionistic.

Scenarios full of opulence and lively themes invite the viewer to participate. It starts with image viewing. Both abstract and figurative enthusiasts can indulge themselves with these scenes. On the one hand there is room for recognition and on the other hand there is also enough room for your own imagination.
