Biography

The nightlife, the beautiful sea view from his studio, but especially classical music are important sources of inspiration. “Malucu” refers to “maluco” which means crazy or crazy in Portuguese, his native language.

Perhaps his work is the result of insanely passionate snapshots. Although his paintings are expressive in character, coincidences arise within the creative process to a certain point.

Although the canvases look very dynamic, the paint is applied quite precisely. He is very controlled with color and rhythm. He uses liquids, his bare hands, a spatula or a brush. His work is open to different interpretations and feelings.

At a young age, Malucu discovered that drawing and painting was what he wanted to go for. He worked for various galleries in Brazil and then made the leap to Europe.

Malucu has since grown into an artist whose works are loved by an audience with representative galleries in the Netherlands, England, Germany, Belgium, France and Scandinavia.
